Keep Delaware Beautiful is excited to be introducing a European fitness trend that fuses exercise with litter removal to the First State! Plogging- combination of the Swedish term “plocka upp,” meaning to pick up, and jogging.

On April 18, 2020, Keep Delaware Beautiful will be kicking off the first annual Trash Dash 5K! Participants will take off at the start line with bags and gloves, stopping to grab any litter they see along the course. This is a great way to not only stay active but help give back to the local community by helping to keep it clean.

The 5K will kick off and end at St.Peters School, located at 515 Harmony St, New Castle and travel around Historic Old New Castle and along the coast at Battery Park. Just days before the 50th Annual Earth Day, the Trash Dash is a great family friendly way to get out and help Keep DE Litter Free!
